Welcome to The Tasting Glass
The Tasting Glass was set up with a simple mission - to share the enjoyment of a great glass of wine.
Our speciality is corporate and private wine tastings for groups large and small.
No tasting is too intimate, no function too large. From boardrooms to birthdays to hens parties, we make wine tastings great for everyone and add to the atmosphere and enjoyment of whatever event you're organising.
Part of the secret to our business is that we have no allegiances to any winery - we pick the best possible wines for each occasion, with a big emphasis on boutique winemakers and unusual wines with a real story.
Ultimately that means a range that spans from Pet-Nat to Penfolds Grange (and everything in between), and one of the most entertaining wine tastings you'll ever go to.
When I was 18, I started working in a small suburban bottleshop, largely to buy cheap beer. It was my first year of university, doing a degree I didn't really like, and a liquor shop seemed fun. Needless to say I discovered wine, my uni degree morphed into something completely different, and wine/beer took over my life.
I've now spent almost twenty years in the wine industry as a writer and marketer, having scribbled for the likes of Gourmet Traveller WINE, National Liquor News, Breathe Hunter Valley and The Retiree.
A former Lifestyle FOOD Channel wine expert and a WCA Wine Journalism 'Young Gun', I have a Masters in in Wine Technology and Viticulture and have made both bad and good wine.
In my spare time I'm a wine show judge and do foolishly long ultra marathons.
I fell into wine when I had to go on a double date to wine club at uni (true story). Turns out I quite liked wine and became an enthusiastic amateur, before taking the plunge into the industry to run a well-known wine business.
A former Head of Performance & Reward at a Big 4 Professional Services firm, I also run an HR consultancy.
When I'm not running wine events or talking HR you will find me with a glass of Pinot in one hand and a piece of Comte in the other.
I moved out to Australia from Scotland after a chance meeting with an old uni lecturer spurred me to chase the wine dream out here. 4 years later and I love nothing more than opening a new bottle or having a chat about wine. On weekends you'll generally find me in the Hunter Valley
